A motorbike crash in which a man died is no longer being treated as a hit-and-run but police have made a fresh appeal for information.

The motorcyclist, in his 20s, who has not yet been named, died at the scene of the crash on Friday at about 22:00 BST on the A500 at Audley, Staffordshire, near junction 16 of the M6.

The bike had crashed into the central reservation, Staffordshire Police said.

The force added it was keen to know the movements of a dark-coloured vehicle which they believed travelled northbound on the A500 towards the motorway at the time of the crash.

“We are no longer treating the incident as a suspected non-stop collision, " a spokesperson added.

Anyone with dashcam footage or who saw the crash was urged to contact the force.
