Boat taking on water with 17 onboard saved by a bung

A lifeboat crew carried out a quick fix on a boat with 17 people onboard which had started taking on water.
An RNLI boat from Mudeford was sent to the vessel which had also suffered engine failure on Sunday at about 20:15 BST.
After boarding the vessel, anchored 2.5 miles (4km) off Hengistbury Head, the volunteer crew pumped water out before stemming the flow with a bung.
The crew stayed with the boat until it was towed back to the harbour by tug.
Mudeford RNLI volunteer helm, Andy Read, said: "Although there were a lot of passengers onboard, the casualty vessel had sufficient lifesaving equipment.
"Fortunately, we were able to quickly stabilize the situation so the boat could be towed to harbour.
"We're pleased everyone was recovered safe and well."
