E-bike rider critically injured in crash with car

An e-bike rider is in a critical condition in hospital after being involved in a crash with a car.

The collision happened on Westburn Road in Aberdeen shortly before 16:30 on Monday.

Police said the 32-year-old male rider of the black Talaria electric bike was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

The female driver and female passenger of the white Dacia Logan car involved were not injured.

The road was closed for more than five hours

The road was closed for more than five hours to allow for crash investigations to take place, and reopened at about 21:40.

Police Scotland said inquiries were ongoing to establish the circumstances and appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them., external

Officers are also appealing for dash cam footage.
