Boy in court over 80-year-old man's park death

A 15-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with the murder of an 80-year-old man who was attacked at a park in Leicestershire.
Bhim Kohli died in hospital following an attack in Franklin Park, Braunstone Town, on 1 September.
Leicestershire Police said a post-mortem examination found he died from a neck injury.
Appearing at Leicester Crown Court on Friday, the boy, who was 14 at the time of the incident, was told he will return for a plea hearing on 22 November with a provisional trial date of 17 February.
Mr Kohli's death prompted tributes from family and friends.
In a statement, his family described him as "a loving husband, dad and grandad".
"Bhim loved to laugh," they said.
"He was always very happy and talkative, the joker of the family and always loved to outsmart us with a smile."
