People are being encouraged to "hop onboard" two affectionately named buses to share their views on public transport.

North Lincolnshire Council said its community buses, called Hattie and Barbara, would be visiting towns across the region throughout August to provide information on the latest schemes and offer family activities including games for children.

The authority said "significant improvements" had been made to North Lincolnshire's bus networks, including extending services and routes to reach more communities.

Meanwhile, young people in the local authority area will only pay £1 for single bus journeys this summer, a spokesperson added.

The consultation events will be held on the following dates:

  • Tuesday 5 August (10:00 to 14:00 BST) at Barton Interchange (Hattie)

  • Wednesday 6 August (10:00 to 14:00) at Crowle Market Place (Hattie)

  • Thursday 7 August (10:00 to 14:00) at Brigg Bridge Street (Barbara)

  • Friday 8 August (10:00 to 14:00) at Scunthorpe Bus Station (Hattie)
