More buses will run between Scunthorpe and Hull from April.

The 350 bus will run hourly from 17:45 GMT Mondays to Saturdays, and the last return journey from Hull will be 23:00.

North Lincolnshire council said it was “continuing to roll out even more improvements to give passengers the best possible experience".

Funding from central government has been awarded to councils to boost local bus services.

North Lincolnshire Council has received more than £1m in government funding from the Bus Service Improvement Plan and £965,000 from reallocated HS2 money to improve bus services in the Midlands and North of England.

Councillor Tim Mitchell said: “The government cash that has been allocated to improve connectivity across North Lincolnshire is already being put to good use as many improvements have been made”.

A service via Ashby, Scunthorpe and Barton recently added an earlier 07:55 Sunday morning service.

The council said it was continuing to make further improvements to routes and weekend services.

These include "more routes, fare caps, weekend services, better passenger information and improved standards, to give passengers the best possible experience".
