Detectives are appealing for anyone with video footage of a suspected hit-and-run on Bonfire Night which injured six people to contact them.

A Volkswagen Golf car struck the group on Bob Massey Close in Openshaw, Manchester, at about 20:30 GMT on Tuesday, Greater Manchester Police said.

Three children and three adults were hurt, with one man left with life-changing injuries.

A man, 36, who was held on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving has been released on bail.

He was also arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker, failing to stop for police, and possession of drugs with intent to supply.

Det Con Jake Horler-Newsham from the force's serious collision investigation unit said: “We know there was a large number of people out that evening watching the fireworks.

"We are keen to obtain more evidence in the form of mobile phone videos, CCTV and doorbell footage to help us with our enquiries."

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police.
