Bradford 2025 calls out for culture year volunteers
- Published
More than 3,500 volunteers are needed to help out during Bradford's year as UK City of Culture, organisers have said.
The Bradford 2025 team said it needed people to volunteer to meet and greet at public events, to be ambassadors for their local area or to help behind the scenes.
It said by taking part, people could "be part of a passionate community of new friends, and have an all-round brilliant time".

Skills and energy
The team said full training would be given and travel and food expenses would be covered.
Opportunities include training in Sight Assisted Guidance and First Aid, as well as the chance to gain an accredited City and Guilds Level 2 Qualification in Customer Service.
The team added: "By sharing your time, skills and energy, you’ll be playing a crucial part in our year-long celebration."
A full programme of events is to be announced in September, which will include 1,000 performances which it is hoped will attract 15.5 million visitors to the city.
The events are predicted to bring an additional visitor spend of £136.9m into the local economy over the year.
Estimates predict the year of culture will bring £389m of growth for Bradford, creating 6,845 new jobs by 2030.
The year of events will be put on by The Bradford Culture Company Ltd, which was set up specifically for that role, with oversight from Bradford Council.
