A large fire at a recycling centre in Leicester was accidental, firefighters say.

Emergency services were alerted to flames at A E Burgess and Sons, a waste and recycling centre in Ulverscroft Road, shortly after 10:42 BST on Monday.

Firefighting operations at the site concluded on Tuesday, and drone footage shows the extent of the damage caused by the fire.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze was caused by a mechanical failure in a vehicle at the site, which then spread to green waste.

Fire crews will continue to revisit the site on Wednesday to check for "hot spots", the fire service added.
