Seven people have been transferred to the immigration service after they were found in the back of a lorry wedged between containers of cucumbers.

Police were called at 15:15 GMT on Tuesday by a man who said he had been in the vehicle for 18 hours with five other men and a woman, all from Eritrea.

Officers located the lorry about 45 minutes later on Twentypence Road in Cottenham, Cambridgeshire.

The driver, a 59-year-old man from Morocco, was arrested on suspicion of assisting illegal entry into the UK and was bailed to return to Parkside Police Station in April.
