Arrest after biker seriously injured in crash

A 51-year-old man was arrested after a crash left a motorcyclist in a critical condition.

The rider, in his 50s, was heading northbound on the A15 at Northborough, near Peterborough, when he collided with a black Hyundai Kona, just before 18:00 BST on Monday.

He was airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, with serious injuries, and he remained there in a critical condition.

The driver of the Hyundai, a man from Market Deeping, near Peterborough, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and causing serious injury by careless driving.

He remains in custody at Thorpe Wood Police Station in Peterborough.

Anyone with information, including dashcam footage, has been asked to contact the police.
