A bus has been damaged after it hit a bus shelter in St Peter Port on Sunday.

Police said the bus mounted the pavement on the Grange at about 13:30 BST to avoid an oncoming vehicle.

There was damage to the bus chassis, windscreen and electronic sign, as well as the frame of the bus shelter, located near the junction with Havilland Street.

Officers said there were no injuries and inquiries were ongoing.
