PC denies causing death of man hit by a patrol car

A Sussex Police officer has denied causing the death of a man who was hit by a patrol car in East Sussex.

Arthur Holscher-Ermert, 27, died after being hit by a police car in Peacehaven just after 23:10 BST on 30 April 2022.

During a hearing at the Old Bailey in London, PC Christopher Corker, 40, of Shandon Road in Worthing denied causing death by dangerous driving.

He also denied causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving and was released on unconditional bail.

A trial date remains set for 5 August at the Old Bailey.
