A man has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after an incident in Sheffield city centre.
Emergency services were called to Division Street at about 13:50 BST following reports of shoplifting and concern for safety nearby, South Yorkshire Police said.
A 34-year-old man was later taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries, officers added.
A cordon has been put up around the Let's Sushi restaurant while police inquiries are ongoing.
