A man described as a "dangerous individual" has been imprisoned for sexual offences against a child.
Nicholas Burgess, 52, of St Cuthberts Crescent, Wolverhampton, was found guilty of five counts of sexually assaulting a child, and one count of inciting a child into sexual activity in July.
Shrewsbury Crown Court heard the offences took place between 2018 and 2020 in Shifnal, Shropshire. He was given seven years in prison.
Det Con Geoff Anslow described Burgess as a "dangerous and predatory individual" and said the sentence reflected the gravity of his crimes.
"I must commend the victim for her bravery throughout the investigation and I hope today’s [Monday's] sentence is able to offer her some closure and will allow her to move forward with her life."
Alongside the sentence, he will also be subject to a sexual harm prevention order.
