The island's Christmas lights switch-on is set to take place over three days next month, organisers have said.

The Parish of St Helier said there was "something to suit everyone", with several events planned suitable for young children and people who want a quieter experience at Parade Gardens.

Organisers said the first mini switch-on, which has a sing-along and a small fireworks display, was due to take place from 16:00 GMT on Thursday 13 November.

They said a sensory-friendly event - which will not have flashing lights, loud noises or crowds - would be held the next day at 15:45.

The main event, the Christmas Parade, was due to take place on Friday 14 November and would leave West's Centre at about 19:00.

It then heads down the High Street to Parade Gardens for the switch-on and fireworks at 20:00.

The Christmas Village would be open for all the events and the Battle of Flowers Christmas Parade would be held on Saturday 15 November, said organisers.
