A hillside in Lincoln is slipping, damaging a major road.

Lincolnshire County Council has found the ground movement on Yarborough Hill, which includes subsidence and slip in "two key areas".

Work to stabilise the hill is expected to start next summer and is likely to cause disruption for motorists using Yarborough Road.

A report to the council's highways and transport committee says that "given the nature of the ground stability and the location of the works on a key route, the final solution has the potential to involve significant traffic management measures".

According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, a layby on the south side of the road is the worst affected area and "visible signs of instability have developed".

The project is due to be discussed by the committee on 8 September.
