Detectives have launched a murder investigation after the death of a man who was seriously assaulted in Hebden Bridge.
West Yorkshire Police were called just before 21:00 BST on Saturday to reports of a fight between two men in Crown Street.
Police said a 52-year-old man, who was found at the scene unconscious and with a head injury, died in hospital on Monday.
A man, aged 31, has been rearrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.
Det Ch Insp Damian Roebuck of the Homicide and Major Inquiry Team said the victim's family were being supported and extensive inquiries were under way.
“We know that there were a lot of people in Crown Street at the time who witnessed the incident," he said.
"I would appeal directly to them to come forward and help us in our investigation.
“We are also appealing to any drivers who were in the area at the time who may have dash cam footage to come forward.”
