Probe into cause of explosion at house
- Published
An investigation has been launched into the cause of an explosion at a terraced house.
The blast happened in Coatbridge Street in Manchester at 18:30 BST on Friday.
Windows were damaged and one person was treated for injuries by North West Ambulance Service.
Engineers from Cadent Gas, who attended to scene to make sure the surrounding area was safe, said there was no evidence the explosion was linked to the gas mains.
A spokesperson said: "Our team have completed a full inspection of the gas pipes in the road and inside the affected property. All gas pipes are sound.
"We have been asked by the building inspector to cut off the gas supply to the affected property.
"It is now for the police and fire service to complete their investigation into the cause."
