New pictures show the aftermath of a fire at a block of flats in West Sussex.

Emergency services were called to the blaze at The Waterfront, off Eirene Road, in Goring-by-Sea at about 02:00 BST on Monday.

A 60-year-old man from Worthing was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and was bailed, police said.

An investigation into the circumstances of the fire was ongoing.

Residents of the flats had been evacuated and work was being carried out to provide temporary accommodation for those unable to return home.
