Man found fatally injured in street is named

A man who died after being found seriously injured in a street in Sheffield has been named as 23-year-old Hamza Mohammed.

Mr Mohammed was found suffering from a head injury at about 16:35 BST on Saturday on Staniforth Road in Darnall.

He was taken to hospital but died on Monday, with South Yorkshire Police saying a murder investigation had since been launched.

A man, 23, arrested on suspicion of robbery, had been released on bail. while another man, 25, who was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of assisting an offender, remained in custody, police said.

Anyone with information about what happened, or who had CCTV or dashcam footage from the scene, was asked to contact the South Yorkshire force.
