Public to have say on new sports hub plans

The recreational field in Angmering would be transformed by the plans

People have been invited to have their say on plans for a new sports hub in Angmering, West Sussex.

The field and pavilion, near Palmer Road, is set to be replaced with a state of the art sports hub.

It would feature traditional grass pitches and a 3G pitch, an artificial cricket wicket, better parking and EV charging points.

The plans have been put out to public consultation until 2 August.

In 2019 Arun District Council assessed the current pitches and changing facilities as being of poor quality.

The Football Foundation, a charity run by the Premier League and Football Association to increase community football facilities, has identified the Palmer Road site as a priority project.

Council leader Martin Lury said: “We want to ensure that the new facilities work as well as possible for people in the district, which is why we are launching this consultation.

“We welcome all feedback as it will help us to shape the plans before we take the next steps.”
