A violent rapist who subjected a woman to a catalogue of abuse has been jailed for 10-and-a-half years.
Craig Morrison, 62, repeatedly carried out attacks on his victim in Aberdeen.
On one occasion he turned her upside down and struck her head on the floor.
Morrison had denied a series of charges during an earlier trial but was found guilty by the jury of offences including rape, assault and threatening or abusive behaviour.
The offending occurred between 1982 and 2021.
Defence counsel Drew McKenzie told the High Court in Edinburgh alcohol had previously been a problem for his client but he had resolved that and stopped drinking.
Judge Lady Wise described Morrison's behaviour as "violent, degrading and controlling".
He was told he would be placed on the sex offenders register for an indefinite period.
