The children were found after a public appeal for information

Two children who went missing for 11 days have been found just hours after police issued a public appeal for information.

The brother and sister, aged seven and nine, had last been seen in a hotel in Southport on Sunday 7 September.

Merseyside Police had said the siblings were believed to be with their mother and her partner.

However, the force later confirmed the children and both adults had been located together "safe and well" after a tip-off from a member of the public.
