Twelve main city roads set to be resurfaced

Twelve main roads in Hull are to be resurfaced after showing signs of deterioration, the city council said.

The work will be carried out during off-peak hours or overnight.

Most will be done as "mobile works" by closing individual lanes, but some roads will be fully closed.

The work will take place between 1 July and 10 July, excluding the weekend of July 6-7.

Hull City Council said defects and cracks would be filled before the road surfaces were sealed.

Letters are being sent to residents giving information about any access restrictions.

There will be diversions put in place when roads are closed, the council said.

The work schedule is:

  • 1 July: Anlaby Road - Flyover from Saner Street to Walton Street - Fully closed 19:30-06:00

  • 2 July: Witty Street - Brighton Street roundabout to Scarborough Road - Mobile works18:30-06:00

  • 2-3 July: Cleveland Street - Witham to Chapman Street - Mobile works 18:30-06:00

  • 3 July: Calvert Road - Spring Bank roundabout to County Road - Fully closed 18:30-06:00

  • 4 July: James Reckitt Avenue - eastbound lane from Malet Lambert School to Gillshill Road mini roundabout - Mobile works 18:30-06:00

  • 5 July: Ganstead Lane - Holderness Road roundabout to outside 67 Ganstead Lane - Mobile works 18:30-06:00

  • 8 July: Wiltshire Road - Hessle Road inbound to Hessle Road flyover - Fully closed 09:30-15:30

  • 8 July: Boothferry Road - Outside lane, inbound and outbound, from Fiveways roundabout to Anlaby Park Road North - Lane closures 09:30-15:30

  • 9 July: Earles Road - Mount Pleasant south roundabout to Alexandra Dock roundabout - Mobile works 04:00-00:00

  • 9 July: Orchard Park Road - from Hall Road to Cladshaw - Mobile works 09:30-15:30

  • 10 July: Runnymede Way - Ashcombe Road to Shinewater Park - Mobile works 09:30-15:30

  • 10 July: Runnymede Lane - Runnymede Way roundabout to Richmond Lane roundabout - Fully closed 09:30-15:30
