Two men have been jailed for chasing a man down a street and stabbing him multiple times.
Leonard Hunte and Horeb Mayukua got out of a car and attacked the man in Stoney Stanton Road in Coventry on 5 January.
Hunte, 19 received a 12-year sentence for wounding with intent, and Mayukua, 22, was jailed for six and a half years on the same charge.
The man survived after finding refuge in a nearby shop, while his attackers fled the area, said West Midlands Police.
The force said the victim's injuries were not life-threatening, despite heavy blood loss.
Both were charged in January and appeared at Coventry Combined Court on Friday when they were sentenced.
Det Insp Sherrie Kimberley from Coventry police said: "This was a shocking attack in broad daylight which could easily have resulted in a man losing his life.
"Every day, officers from all our teams work to keep the streets safe with regular patrols and operations.
"Violence on the streets of Coventry is completely unacceptable and we'll continue to arrest those who would carry weapons and use them."
