Bollards placed on Academy Street in Inverness to make the area more pedestrian friendly during the pandemic are to be removed next week.

Highland Council had been planning to make permanent changes to the road layout.

However, the local authority had to abandon the scheme after the Court of Session ruled there had been inadequate consultation.

Officials say the work to remove the bollards on Academy Street will start on Monday and is expected to be completed by the end of the week.
