Comment deadline passes on island development plan

The deadline to comment on the island development plan (IDP) review has now closed, the States of Guernsey has said.
The Development & Planning Authority (DPA) will now review and respond to all those received.
In total, 276 submissions which included about 500 individual representations were received, the States said.
Deputy Victoria Oliver, president of the DPA, said: "We’re very grateful to all those who have taken the time to comment on our proposed changes to the IDP."
She added: "As a committee we look forward to sitting down together and discussing the feedback we’ve received.
"This process is about testing our ideas and further refining them so that what we end up with reflects islanders’ views."
In June, the DPA unveiled changes it was planning for the IDP following a review.
The proposed changes to the IDP include six new areas of the island being earmarked for affordable housing and extending the L’Aumone local centre boundary to include the Castel Hospital site.
The process will now see all members of the DPA have the opportunity to discuss how to respond to the comments received before responses are published in the week beginning 12 August.
Following publication of the DPA’s responses to the comments received, there will then be another opportunity for islanders to comment.
