Two popular parks have been awarded £50,000 to fund major improvements - with the public set to be asked how they would like to see the money spent.

Marje Kelly and Gorse Hill parks in Trafford, Greater Manchester, have been given the funding as a result of council and developers agreements over open space financial contributions.

Trafford Council has now launched a survey to obtain views from residents on how the money should be spent.

The last date to submit views will be on 31 January 2025.

Organisers want to hear from those who use the parks and those who do not.

Councillor Stephen Adshead, the council's executive member for highways, environmental and traded services, said it was important everyone has their say on the improvements.

This funding is a result of Trafford Council’s planning teams agreeing with the developer who built more than 300 homes on the former Itron factory site, also known as Novus, between Talbot Road, Christie Road and Renton Road.
