Pontoon damaged in strong winds and high tide
- Published
A dingy pontoon in Alderney's Braye Harbour has been damaged in strong winds and the high spring tides.
Structural damage to the pontoon's couplings caused one section to take on water, the harbour master said.
Boat owners are asked to instead use the passenger landing pontoon that was installed last year.
Alderney harbour master Adam Rose said: "We will aim to disconnect the outer sections and crane them out of the water as soon as is practicable."
The pontoon was due to be removed in stages this month and next following changes to harbour services in the colder months.
