Man fighting for his life after assault outside bar

A man remains in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted outside a bar, police have said.
Officers responded to reports of an assault outside a venue on the junction of Deansgate and Atkinson Street in Manchester at around 23:10 BST on Saturday.
Detectives at Greater Manchester Police have said they believe there had been an altercation before the attack, and they are hoping to speak to a witness and another victim of the wider altercation.
Two men, aged 23 and 33, were arrested on suspicion of assault.
Police said the 23-year-old remains in custody while the 33-year-old has been bailed as their investigation continues.
Det Insp Leanne Gibb of GMP said: "A man is currently in a critical condition in hospital, and we are still establishing the full facts of this incident.
"We have already arrested two men and we are appealing for anyone with information to please get in touch with us.
"You may indeed have witnessed the incident, any information you may have, regardless of how small you think it is, could be of great benefit to our investigation."
