A major route through the New Forest has reopened after crash repairs were completed overnight.

The A31 was shut from 21:00 BST on Wednesday to allow for resurfacing work.

It came after a crash between Stoney Cross and Picket Post involving three vehicles on Tuesday evening.

National Highways released a statement earlier thanking motorists for their patience.
