Sports programme aims to support Jersey talent

Jersey athletes have been invited to apply for funds to help them develop their talent and compete at international events.
Jersey Sport said it aimed to identify and support athletes as part of its new Performance Pathway Programme, external.
Jersey Sport said the programme aimed to help athletes fulfil their sporting dreams and potentially achieve medal success at the Olympics or other major championships.
It said athletes who fell into "Podium, Podium Potential or Talent Performance Profiles" would be invited to apply for funding to support their training, competition and living costs.
Eligible athletes must have been either been born in Jersey or resident in the island for more than two years.
Qualifying Jersey athletes now based in the UK or overseas can also apply.
David Kennedy, chief executive at Jersey Sport, said: "The Performance Sport Programme aims to support Jersey's most talented athletes by providing services that will help them achieve their potential and hopefully see our island exceed its future sporting expectations."
