Man killed in industrial incident was 'much loved'

The family of a man who died in an industrial incident has praised his "generous spirit."

Andrew Blundell, 56, died after a heavy load fell on top of him at a site off Glendower Street, Kirkdale, Liverpool in September.

In a statement his family said: "Andrew, known to his family as Drew and his friends as Andy was a kind loving brother, uncle and friend whose generous spirit enriched the lives of everyone he met.

"He was much loved by all of his family and friends who are devastated by his loss. We will miss him beyond words."

Merseyside Police said a joint investigation with the Health and Safety Executive into the circumstances of Mr Blundell's death was ongoing.

Three people arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after the incident have been conditionally bailed.

A second man, aged in his 20s, who was also injured in the incident remained in hospital in a stable condition, police said.
