A former nightclub is set to be converted into flats after plans were approved by Bradford Council.

The building, 6-8 Sackville Street in Bradford city centre, was home to the Krizma venue and has been empty since the council revoked the club's licence in 2023.

Police previously told a licensing committee of numerous violent incidents in and around the site, including a stabbing and knives found at a nearby car park.

The site would become a mix of one and two-bed flats over two floors, with the plans gaining no objections.

The application, submitted to the council by Krusor Estates Ltd, said that it would bring an empty city centre property back into use, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

Sackville Street has long been one of the main areas of Bradford for nightclubs, many of which are open until early morning.

Approving the work, planning officers said: “The proposal could enhance the appearance of the building and have a more positive contribution to the appearance and character of the city centre conservation area in which the building is situated.

“As the building is within the city centre some noise to the proposed occupants will be excepted, however the building is set away from the main high streets."
