A cyclist who died in hospital following a collision with a car "had so much more to offer the world", his family said.
James Sullivan was hurt in the crash with a grey Hyundai i20 on the Shepherds Hill Roundabout in Woodley, Reading, at about 16:45 BST on 29 August and died in hospital later.
The 49-year-old was a married father with two daughters who "wanted everyone to be happy", his family said in a statement released by police on Saturday.
A 24-year-old man from Slough was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and was bailed, police said last in September.
The statement read: "James was a strong, healthy man, a husband, father, son, brother and friend - [he] was only 49 and had so much more to offer the world.
"He did not die as a result of a life-limiting disease, nor did his body grow too old to continue. He simply went out on his new road bike one Friday afternoon and never came home.
"James' dry sense of humour defined him. He made everyone laugh even when laughter (or his joke) seemed inappropriate.
"He wanted everyone to be happy - he knew himself what it was to be sad.
"He was an extremely proud father and uncle. James was fiercely protective of his wife, two daughters, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces and many friends.
"We all miss him terribly."
