A 37-year-old man has been taken to hospital suffering from burns after several cars caught fire.

Avon Fire and Rescue were called to Henley Grove in Bristol at about 15:50 BST on Sunday, following a report of a car fire which had spread to three other vehicles.

The injured man was thought to have been a passenger in the first car. A second man left the scene before the emergency services arrived.

Four vehicles were damaged by fire and the road remains closed pending recovery of the vehicles and repairs to the road.

Sixteen firefighters worked to extinguish the flames and call handlers received 36 calls about the incident.

Avon and Somerset Police are asking for any witnesses or anyone with any footage of what happened, or any other information, to contact them.
