Woman attacked after being forced into car

A woman suffered facial injuries after being forced inside a car and attacked.

Gloucestershire Police said members of the public reported seeing a man shout at the woman and demand she get inside the car on Russell Street, near Gloucester Rail Station, at about 22:30 GMT on Thursday 6 November.

Police said the man forced her inside the car and drove away, and also reportedly punched her in the face several times.

A 63-year-old man from Gloucester has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and released on bail.

Gloucestershire Police said they have identified the woman and traced her to an address where she was found to have facial injuries.

Anyone who saw the incident has been urged to contact the force.
