A teenager has been arrested after a man was stabbed in the chest in Manchester, police have said.
A man in his 20s was taken to hospital in a critical condition after being attacked in Slade Lane, Longsight at approximately 18:15 BST on Friday.
Police said a 17-year-old boy was arrested on Sunday evening on suspicion of attempted murder, and remains in custody.
It is the second arrest in connection with the incident, with a man in his 50s arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder on Friday. The suspect has subsequently been released on bail.
'Critical but stable'
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said the victim, who was stabbed in the chest, remained in hospital in a critical but stable condition.
Police have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
Det Insp John Robb, from GMP's City of Manchester division, said: “We have continued with our inquiries over the weekend, which has led us to arresting another individual in relation to this incident.
“Additional officers will remain in the area, and I would encourage members of the public to speak to them if you have any concerns or information that could assist us with our investigation."
He thanked the community "for their help and patience so far".
