A third man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a gun was fired in Stoke-on-Trent.

A 24-year-old man from the city was arrested on Monday following the incident near Winchester Avenue, Bentilee on the afternoon of 3 September. No-one was hurt.

The man was questioned and released with strict bail conditions, Staffordshire Police said.

Officers said it was "part of our robust investigation into a firearm discharge".

Two other men, aged 30 and 28, were previously questioned on suspicion of attempted murder and released on police bail with strict conditions.

Armed officers have searched addresses across the city and the force has appealed for information.
