Cyclist in serious condition after horsebox collision

A cyclist has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a collision with a horsebox.

The man in his 60s was unseated from his bike as both were travelling south along Wilmslow Road in Manchester at about 08:00 BST on Monday.

Greater Manchester Police said the cyclist remained in a "serious condition" after the incident.

Officers want to speak to the driver of a white VW polo that was travelling directly behind the horsebox at the time, the force added.

The driver of the horsebox remained at the scene of the crash, which took place near to the junction on Sunbank Lane.

Police said no arrests had been made and appealed for anyone with footage of the incident to come forward.
