Where to enjoy Bonfire Night 2025 across North West

The region will light up in a festival of fireworks and other frolics

Dazzling firework displays are set to light up the skies later for Bonfire Night - and here is a choice selection of some of the best ways to enjoy all the fun.

There are a range of organised events to suit all ages and tastes across the north-west of England, and even a few dog-friendly ones for braver pets.

Here is a selection of displays happening near you in the coming days.

Cheshire

Bonfire and Fireworks Display, Tytherington: The Tytherington Club in Macclesfield will host a big display. Gates open at 17:30 GMT with the bonfire lit at 18:45 and fireworks starting at 19:30.

Macclesfield Football Club Firework Extravaganza: The doors at Leasing.com Stadium open at 17:00 before the big event kicks off at 19:00. Along with the fireworks, it promises activities including balloon modelling.

Firework and Light Festival, Macclesfield: Macclesfield Cricket Club is staging an evening of "fireworks, light & fun" on Saturday between 18:00 and 21:00.

Lord Mayor's Fireworks Extravaganza, Chester: The Racecourse in Chester is expecting thousands of people for its child-friendly fundraising event on Saturday which also has a quieter display.

Greater Manchester

Dozens of displays will be available to choose from over the coming days

Printworks, Manchester: The Printworks promises an exciting alternative to traditional firework celebrations from 17:00 until 20:00 GMT. The venue is hosting a free digital firework display on Europe's largest digital ceiling. The evening will be hosted inside the venue's Pumpyard – and will feature story-telling from BBC Radio One's Katie Thistleton.

Irish World Heritage Centre, Cheetham Hill: The Irish World Heritage Centre is staging a firework event along with a funfair, stilt walkers, fire breathers and stage shows. The event starts at 17:00 until 21:00 with the fireworks expected to start at about 19:30.

Oddfellows Arms, Eccles, Salford: The Oddfellows Arms in Eccles is offering fireworks, sparklers and options for toffee apples, hot chocolate, hot food and other treats from 16:00 until 21:00.

Rochdale Bonfire and Fireworks Display: Rochdale Borough Council is hosting a free family-friendly bonfire and fireworks display at Cronkeyshaw Common, Syke, on Thursday from 18:00 until 22:00.

Some of the events have been billed as quieter and more animal friendly

Lancashire

Fireworks Extravaganza Fleetwood: The fireworks event later at Fleetwood's Marine Hall promises to be "back with a bang". The display is expected to start at 18:35.

Blackpool Cricket Club: Gates open at 17:00 for the annual Blackpool Cricket Club Bonfire & Fireworks.

Astley Park, Chorley: Light Up Astley features fire breathing, light installations, jugglers, stilt walkers, drummers as well as a bonfire, fireworks and light installations on Friday between 17:00 and 20:00.

Heysham Village: There is a children's display at 18:30 and a main one due at 20:30 on Sunday.

Morecambe Promenade: The Morecambe Promenade Fireworks Extravaganza on Monday kicks off at 17:00 with a children's fireworks display at about 18:30 and the main display at about 20:30.

Merseyside

Horse and Jockey Pub, Liverpool: The funfair and fireworks fun starts from 16:00 at the venue. It said it cannot given an exact time the display will start but confirmed it would be after 18:00 and before 21:00.

Lunt Meadows Nature Reserve, Thornton: There is a wildlife-friendly bonfire night at Lunt Meadows Nature Reserve, which is also dog-friendly between 17:30 and 19:30.

Hightown Club, Hightown, Liverpool: Liverpool based Bring the Fire Project - a leading fire and light performing group - returns for a fabulous Viking fire dancing show, starting at 19:00. The bonfire will be lit at 19:15 and fireworks will light up the night sky at 19:45.

Ormskirk Cricket Club: Doors open at 16:30 on Saturday with the bonfire lit at 17:15 then Guinness world record breaking juggler Chris Marley performing at 19:00 followed by a firework display at 19:15.
