A man in his 20s has been left with "life-threatening" injuries after a hit-and-run crash, according to Surrey Police.
The force said it was investigating the crash, involving a silver Mercedes and the male pedestrian, which happened just before 17:45 BST on Hornbeam Road in Reigate on Thursday.
It said the driver left the scene, however officers later found the car.
Officers said they were pursuing a "number of active lines" of inquiry.
Surrey Police said Hornbeam Road was closed between the junction with Holly Road and Willow Road while officers attended the scene.
The force urged anyone with information to get in touch.
