Four people have been re-arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was stabbed to death in Liverpool.

Paul Foster, 47, was found fatally injured by paramedics in a property on Muirhead Avenue, West Derby, at around 01:40 BST on 15 October 2024.

Mr Foster, from Newsham Park in the city, had suffered a puncture wound and died in hospital later that morning.

On Wednesday Merseyside Police said that three men and a woman, who had previously been questioned, had been detained in connection with the death.

The men aged 26, 49 and 60 and a 40-year-old woman, all from Liverpool, are in police custody being questioned by detectives.

Det Ch Insp Steve McGrath said: "Our investigation into Paul's death is progressing and these arrests form part of our ongoing inquiries.

"Although we have re-arrested four people, we are still appealing for any information as we are determined to get answers for Paul's family."
