An 85-year-old woman has completed a charity skydive at 15,000 feet (4,570m).

Terri Collins, from Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, undertook the challenge for The Counselling Partnership – a charity she co-founded more than 25 years ago.

The daredevil pensioner, who previously completed a tandem skydive on her 80th birthday, carried out her latest jump near Salisbury, in Wiltshire, to mark her 85th birthday.

She said it was "such a lovely day" and that jumping at 125mph felt "really surreal".

Ms Collins told BBC Radio Surrey: "I felt apprehensive but was quite calm, actually. I knew what to expect as I'd done it before.

"It was amazing. It's so quiet once the parachute goes up and you're just floating."

The challenge had been cancelled twice in August due to poor weather conditions.

The charity she was raising funds for provides one-to-one counselling for adults, both in person and online, on a pay-what-you-can basis.

Ms Collins said in June that the charity was four months away from dipping into its reserve funds as grants they had received were lower than expected.

She has so far raised more than £3,400 of her £4,000 fundraising target.

Ms Collins also did not rule out attempting another tandem skydive for her 90th birthday.
