Two due in court after men shot and stabbed

Two men are to appear in court charged with attempted murder after a man was shot and another stabbed.

Stephen Wilson, 28, from Salford and Jordan Aston, 33, of no fixed abode have also both been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in connection with the incident in Oldham.

They have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Manchester Magistrates court later.

The incident happed in Busk Road at about 20:30 BST on Wednesday.

'Stab wounds'

After a man arrived at hospital with a gunshot wound to his arm, CCTV led police to Busk Road, where they found a man with stab wounds.

On Friday, two women aged 23 and 25, were arrested for assisting an offender before being bailed.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Greater Manchester Police.

Det Insp Alex Wilkinson said police wanted to reassure residents that they were conducting regular patrols of the area following the incident.

They are also going through CCTV footage as part of the investigation.
