Second man charged with murder of stabbing victim

A second man has been charged with the murder of a man who was stabbed in east London.

Haseeb Bhatti, 23, died on Flamstead Road, Dagenham, at about 01:30 GMT on 20 April.

Swayf Amana, 26, of Barking, who was arrested on Monday, is due to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court later on Wednesday.

Frankie Burleton, 24, from Dagenham, was previously charged with Mr Bhatti's murder and causing GBH with intent. He is due to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 16 July.

Police were called by London Ambulance Service after a 50-year-old man suffered stab injuries in Rothwell Gardens, Dagenham.

Officers attended and found Mr Bhatti in nearby Flamstead Road. Despite the efforts of the emergency services, he died at the scene.

The condition of the 50-year-old man was not life-threatening.

He was discharged from hospital and arrested in connection with the stabbing. He has since been released under investigation.

Three other men have been arrested and bailed in relation to the investigation.
