Fifth person charged with murder over stabbing death

A fifth person has been charged with murder after a man was found stabbed outside a house, police said.

Lee Clarkson, 41, was found outside his home in West Lane, Bishop Auckland, at about 18:00 GMT on 29 November.

Three men, aged 52, 44, and 42, a 42-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy have now been charged with his murder.

The four adults appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ and were remanded in custody to appear at Teesside Crown Court on 6 December.

The teenager has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court.

"Lee was a much-loved father, son, and brother," a statement from Mr Clarkson's family said.

“The whole family is absolutely devastated at the loss of Lee and his death has left an enormous hole in our lives.”
