Two people have been injured and one man arrested after an incident in a remote beauty spot on the Isle of Man's eastern coast.
Police were called to a report of a serious assault on Cornaa Beach Maughold, at about 16:00 BST on Monday.
Armed officers responding to the attack then responded to a second assault nearby.
Superintendent John Phillips said: "Officers responding to this incident swiftly arrested a man from Douglas, who remains in police custody."
The local man subject to the first assault is being treated in the UK for serious injuries.
The second man, who also had his car stolen, is also believed to be local.
The incidents followed an extensive search operation by emergency services to locate a "high risk missing person" over the weekend and into Monday.
Police said they located and arrested a man from Douglas shortly after the second attack took place.
A significant police presence remained in the Maughold area while officers carried out enquiries and spoke to witnesses.
Police said there was "no indication of any ongoing threat to the public".
Officers have invited people in the area to a community information evening at Dhoon Church Hall in Glen Mona between 19:00 until 20:00 BST to offer "some reassurance and support" to residents.
