The family of a teenager killed alongside two others in car crash have said they were "proud to call him son".

Koby Jones, 18, from Flockton, was driving a black Seat Ibiza when it left the road and hit a tree in the village of West Bretton on Friday night.

Paying tribute, his mother Rebecca said: "Koby was genuinely one of the most kind, thoughtful, hardworking young men I have ever known and we are so proud to call him our son."

Two 19-year-old male passengers were also killed while another man remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The tribute added: "This family is broken and the world is going to be such a lonely place without him.

"Whoever had the pleasure of meeting him would say the same.

"Love you son. Loved by all."

Police have appealed for anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to get in touch

Officers from the Major Collision and Enquiry Team said the car was driving along Bramley Lane towards Woolley when it left the road at about 20:30 GMT.

Det Sgt Steven Suggitt said it was believed before the crash, the car had left the Horbury Bridge area at about 20:20 GMT.

He said: "This was clearly a tragic incident where three people lost their lives and a fourth suffered life-threatening injuries and our thoughts remain with their families.

"We would like anyone who saw the car travelling between Horbury Bridge and West Bretton around this time to please get in touch."

The officer also appealed for anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to contact police.
